Privacy Policy
Castique turns articles you choose into a short, two‑host audio episode. This policy explains what the service handles and why. It applies to the Castique web app and the iOS/macOS apps.
What we process
- Content you submit — the article URL or text you provide. We fetch the article (when a URL is given) and send the text to our AI provider to generate a transcript and audio. We keep the generated episode (title, summary, transcript, audio) so you can play, share, and subscribe to it; episodes expire and are deleted automatically after a retention window.
- An anonymous session identifier — a random ID stored in a cookie (web) or kept by the app. It links your generated episodes to your personal RSS feed. It is not tied to your name, email, or any account, because Castique has no accounts.
- Basic technical logs — standard request metadata (timestamps, error diagnostics, aggregate usage counts) used to operate and protect the service. We do not use them to profile you.
AI processing
Transcripts and speech are generated by Google's Gemini API. The text you submit is sent to Google solely to produce your episode, subject to Google's API terms. We do not use your content to train models.
What we do not do
- No user accounts, names, or passwords.
- No advertising and no selling of personal data.
- No third‑party analytics or tracking SDKs by default.
Sharing
If you share an episode link, anyone with that unguessable link can view and listen to that episode. Your personal RSS feed link works the same way — treat it like a password.
Data retention & deletion
Episodes and their audio are removed automatically after their retention window. Because there is no account, there is no stored profile to delete; clearing the app or your browser cookie disconnects you from your prior session and feed.
Children
Castique is not directed to children under 13.
